🇭🇺Hungary

Hungary centers almost entirely on Budapest, one of Europe's grandest and most affordable capitals. You get sweeping architecture, thermal baths, a buzzing ruin-bar nightlife, and a serious food scene at prices well below Western Europe. The forint's weakness has kept costs attractive for foreign earners. Outside the capital, English thins and the nomad scene largely disappears.

The White Card

Hungary's White Card is a dedicated digital nomad residence permit for non-EU remote workers employed by or owning a foreign company. It runs one year and is renewable once for a second year. Required income sits around €3,300/month over the prior six months, plus health insurance and accommodation proof. Many Western passports also enter the Schengen Area visa-free for 90 days.
